 One of the strengths of the Brick Math program is the way the brick models help students visualize the action of the math. As one student told us, “Now I can SEE the math!” The Brick Math Lesson of the Month for December 2022 shows that power of the modeling process. From Division Using LEGO® Bricks, this lesson on Basic Division Facts introduces students to the concept of division in a very concrete way. Then three 1x2 bricks are placed on top of that brick, clearly demonstrating the division sentence “6 divided by 3 equals 2.” It’s a simple and very effective way to help students discover exactly what division means.
