Author of the Brick Math books, Dr. Shirley Disseler is Associate Professor at High Point University and the STEM Coordinator for the BA to MEd Program. She has over 25 years of educational experience, from elementary school teaching through higher education, including gifted education and exceptional children.
Dr. Disseler is a LEGO® Education Academy Trainer, and has been instrumental in the development and testing of the LearnToLearn, MoreToMath, and WeDo 2.0 products. She serves on the LEGO® Education Ambassadors Panel and is the trainer for the High Point University Teacher Academy for LEGO® Education. Dr. Disseler is the author of Strategies and Activities for Common Core Math, Parts 1 & 2, and conducts research on engagement and creativity in mathematics classrooms. She offers consulting in manipulative mathematics, active learning, classroom management, and learning with LEGO® bricks. Her favorite statement about learning: "There's no such thing as a student who is bad at math. They just need to be taught using techniques that are good for teaching." |

Neil Raphel is President and Acquisitions Editor for Brigantine Media. He has 25 years of experience in publishing and an extensive background in direct marketing and loyalty marketing.
Neil has co-authored seven books, including Business Success in Tough Times, The Complete Idiot’s Guide to a Successful Family Business, and Up the Loyalty Ladder. Neil has a background in finance and law, and was president of a trading firm in New York City. He is a graduate of Swarthmore College and the University of Texas Law School. |

Janis Raye, Editorial Chief, heads the editorial process at Brigantine Media. She works with authors to help them shape their ideas into successful books. Janis is the lead editor for the Brick Math series of books. Janis is also co-author of four books on marketing and business, including The Complete Idiot’s Guide to a Successful Family Business and Business Success in Tough Times. Janis has an MBA from Columbia University and a BA from Wellesley College.
