About Brick Math

Picture
The Brick Math curriculum focuses on learning math by modeling with plastic toy bricks. Written by Dr. Shirley Disseler, an expert in teaching math using manipulatives, the first three subjects in the Brick Math series were published in 2016: Basic Fractions, Multiplication, and Division. Each subject has a Teacher Edition, which is a complete step-by-step lesson guide, and a Student Edition, which is a workbook for a student to follow.

Following the success of the first three titles, Brick Math kept growing; first to a K – 6 curriculum and then extending through 8th grade. Brick Math now includes 13 subjects, from Counting to Pre-Algebra. Students can start anywhere in the curriculum based on their needs.

The Brick Math  curated brick set is made specially for the Brick Math curriculum. The 250-piece brick set includes all the bricks needed for the program for one student or for two students to share. The bricks are packaged in a sturdy plastic divided box to make it easy to manage in classrooms or at home.  The brick set also include two 6-inch square baseplates for students to build their brick models on securely. The Brick Math brick set covers all the brick modeling needs for the entire K – 8 program. No other manipulatives are required!
